The actors and actresses of Bollywood stars in India create a spotlight and fame. In every household, the TV switch is on for hours. As we are aware of social issues that gather attention shown in the movies and characters play in the shows. In this way, evil practices such as: caste system, racial discrimination, gender inequality, feminism and telecasted on the screen to create awareness of such practices in the society. 1. Modi:

A film based on the true-life story of our present PM Sri Narendra Modi. The character plays the role of a young boy who struggles for living as a tea seller at a railway station and becoming a well-renowned politician. This film inspires the youth to build aspiration for the future. The achievements of hope and dream of a youthful soul. Additionally ,it generates the youth of the nation to strive and hope for the betterment of the nation, to love our country, and serve the people. Hence,if we are to term the film in one sentence; the victory of a “common man”.

2. Rang De Basanti:

This indian film is on the history of India and the struggles of Indians during British rule. The film shows two eras of the period, the characters of four friends who are bold enough to sacrifice for the country in the past and in the present world.Further,another era shows the suffering of the Indians on the hands of the British armies and the revolt against the injustice treatment: socially and economically. A quote from the film: “Paint me in the color of sacrifice”.

3. Taare Zameen Par:

This indian film, the character revolves around the life of a young boy, at the age of five who is admitted to a boarding school. So, the parents send him because of his poor performance in academics and the fact that he has dyslexia. As, he is fortunate to have a teacher c who helps him overcome his ability. There is a social stigma to have a child with a disability in our society. The feeling of the child is less accounted for by the community and even the parents themselves thought it is bad luck to have such a child. Hence , the mass ignorance of possible treatment for persons with disabilities is not same as Western .

4. 3 Idiots:

The perception of education is highly depicted in this film, the professor being one ordinary professor who is rigid and arrogant. While the students attend the classes for the sake of learning. In an engineering college, three friends enroll to pursue a degree. The education system in India is thought to provide a degree for a job and system of memorizing and spoon-feeding, must be replaced with a better formulation and strategies. The population of unemployed educated youth and high competition for a civil servant is also another problem to look into. The pressure on the students in the system sometimes leading to cases of suicides.The famous line from the film, “All is well”.

5. Queen:

In this indian film, the character plays the role of an obedient daughter who is to marry a man of her parent’s choice. In India marriage is a huge ceremonial festival and luxurious at the same time. So ,often when a good bachelor with a job comes for a hand in marriage, indians daughters are married off. As in the film, a man who has a job in an overseas country is treated like a diamond in the family. The choices of the girl are subdued, the rights of freedom and inequality are practiced consciously or subconsciously. The voice of a woman in the structure of a family has no great significance in a patriarchal society like India.

6. Udaan:

The story revolves around the life of a teenage boy who returns home after eight years from boarding school. The father is a typical Indian army man who lives by rules. The boy does not get the attention and love from his father. To pay off his fees he works at a construction site. The bond between the father and the son gradually lost in the process. Apparently, this is nothing new in the community where the rate of intimacy is trivial.

7. OMG:

This film displays the existence of numerous gods and religions in Indian society and extends religious faiths are politicized. The film conveys the moral in the spiritual life that there exists one and only one God. Man creates religion and laws, but there is one God above all gods. The other lesson this film conveys is to acknowledge that there is no greater belief; it emphasizes the equality of all religions.

8. Swades:

The character in this film searches for his identity, a journey of self-discovery. Transformation period for the character after returning from the US, the villagers treat him as an outsider. He empathizes the misery and social injustice of the lowest section of the population. Participation in bringing about a change against the existing social evil-practices, people adore his work and his effort in empowering the villagers. The storyline is somewhat similar to the life of Mahatma Gandhi, after his return from Africa. So, even today such evil practices of social injustice and grievances are still exist in the community.

9. Lunch Box:

The film portrays the delivery system of the lunch box in India from kitchens to offices in the city hub of Mumbai. A woman in her 30’s longing for love and compassion from her husband. It depicts the life of the housewife in the city where the husband is carried away with work while she feels the lonliness and lonesome life. So, the need and desire for a women seeks a company to whom she can share her thoughts and sentiments. “Sometimes the wrong train will get you to the right station” -Anonymous.

10. Vicky Donor:

A comedian indian film in which the character in his 30’s unemployed and is searching for a suitable job to earn a living. Literally, he began donating his sperm to a clinic which helps an infertile couple. This becomes a good investment for him without much effort. Yet the rejection from his girlfriend because he is a donor, trouble him. The scenario depicted the practice of scientific techniques: assisted reproductive technology (ART) commonly referred to as In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Infertility in women and couple increases over the years which amounts to the purpose of such treatment across the country.
